National home prices increased on both a yearly and monthly pace in February, according to data from CoreLogic, but the rate of price growth is slowing.
The CoreLogic Home Price Index showed a 4% increase in average U.S. home prices from February 2018, but compared with January 2019, prices are up only 0.7%. CoreLogic expects prices to actually decrease on a monthly basis in March. With the help of low interest rates from the Fed, however, prices are still expected to grow overall by 4.7% by February 2020.
