The number of U.S. properties with foreclosure filings dropped 23% in the 2019 first quarter to 161,875, according to ATTOM Data Solutions.
That also represents a 15% decline from the previous year. And in March, while foreclosure filings rose 7%, total filings were down 21% compared with the year earlier, marking nine straight months of year-over-year decreases. Most of the largest mortgage markets now have foreclosure filing numbers below their pre-recession levels.
